Inspirtainer and Voice Coach
A seasoned musical theatre performer and public speaker, Laura is in demand as an "inspirtainer." She reinforces her uplifting messages with songs that permeate the psyche in ways that words alone cannot. Laura teaches singing privately, in groups, and via Skype. She has students all over the world.
Laura began her career in the corporate world as a communications consultant to Fortune 500 companies. She then went on to design and deliver adult training programs, teaching communication skills and personal effectiveness. Laura's course titles included Leaders Emerging, Active Listening and Inner Resources for Improved Results.
She has taught voice and musical theatre acting. She specializes in helping people tell the story of a song, to perform it, not just to sing with great technique. Laura has performed lead roles in musicals in Chicago, Santa Fe and Southern Oregon. Some roles include Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Maria in The Sound of Music, The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods and Marian in The Music Man. Laura also wrote and starred in a Spotlight on Linda Ronstadt, performing 22 of Linda's songs in all her vocal styles: pop rock, opera, jazz, and Mexican canciones.
Laura holds a Bachelors degree in economics and international relations (French Area Studies) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her Masters Degree in organization development from Loyola University in Chicago. She is an ordained, interfaith minister, having graduated from the Seminary for Spiritual Peacemaking.
Originally from the Midwest, Laura presently calls Ashland, Oregon her home.
